The Ladies of Rolling Pony

Our First Haflinger:

Alleys Auzzie-(4-1991) (Spencer x Ally NTF [Waro van deHaflingerhoeve]) "Holly" was our first Haflinger, purchased to teach Sharon to drive - which she did in spades. She is our "step-up" driving lesson horse, when students need something a little more challenging to drive. Of draft type, she consistently out-moves and out-performs her conformation. Successful at Combined Driving Events in a pair with "Bieka" in 2002, in 2005, she took Sharon (in her first year of CDE competition) from Training level to Preliminary in 6 months. They went to the Colorado Horse Park CDE in August and beat everybody, Welsh and Morgan alike in all three phases,by an expanding margin. In 2006, we took it a little slower, competing in Ram Tap,Henry Boyd Memorial, and Shady Oaks CDEs as Single Prelim. Pony. Though Holly is still loving the challenge, we've decided to retire her from single pony CDEs. We'll still be doing Arena Driving Trials and Horse Driving Trials with her, though.

Beverly - (4-1990) (Michel of NTF x Brinly [Stanley]) 13.3 1/2hh, light-chestnut, narrow strip. "Bieka" is our trustworthy beginner-safe driving horse, who can beat 'em in competition, too. Broke to ride at age 11, she has been pleasing riders and spectators alike at breed promotion events ever since.  Bieka has given us 3 lovely foals since we first bred her at 13 years of age, all available for viewing at Rolling Pony Ranch: Willi RPR (2003) (See Sales Horses), B-Easter Lily RPR (2005), and Nicasio RPR (2006). She has let us know she wants to work this year, so she won't have an '08 baby. She's already been out in public at the Western States Horse Expo, and seemed to love being active again.

Congratulations to Kathy Graves, one of our students, on the purchase of Bieka. We're sad to see Bieka go, but we're also very excited at how perfect a match she is for Kathy, who wanted a quiet, honest horse to continue to learn to drive with. May they have many happy years together.

Peppermint Patrice -(5-1995) (Matt's Clint x Peppermint Patty) 14.0hh, Classified and approved for breeding. This mare came to us as a 'rescue' who was almost impossible to catch, very distrustful of people, and wouldn't let you NEAR her hindquarters. Not any more. This mare looks very much like her maternal great grandsire, Alpen Koenig, in type. Tallish, with a lovely head and neck, the prettiest face and kindest eye you have EVER seen. She has had two wonderful, gentle and athletic colts for us by Noblest of All CGH.

Spirit of Equitana Bar - (5-2000) (Nobleman of Tudor Oaks x Sporty TOF [Starobin]) 13.3 hh, classified SILVER in 2006. A very pretty mare, very well bred on both sides, she has inherited spectacular movement through her mother, whose dam is by Winterstein, sire of Walzertakt. We call her "Sunny" for her temperament. She joined the Rolling Pony family in 2005, and is being started in harness. she is bred for an '08 foal to AVANTI OF CEDAR LANE (Silver Classified). Early reservations welcomed for this foal.
